Booking page for makeup artists

A booking page for makeup artists that also runs the business side: Klendr combines your calendar and online booking with VAT invoices, kit inventory, a client history with every shade and analytics for the wedding season. One link for bridal, evening and photo-shoot makeup — and the paperwork after the job is already done.

More than a booking page: a makeup artist’s accounting, kit and clients in one calendar

A makeup business is not only appointments. After a wedding morning there is an invoice for the bride and four bridesmaids, a half-empty foundation, a box of strip lashes going down and a question at the end of June: was the season worth the 5 a.m. starts? Klendr keeps these numbers next to the calendar, so you do not rebuild them from WhatsApp chats and receipts.

  • Accounting and invoices — one PDF invoice with VAT for the whole bridal party or an event agency, sent automatically after the job, with a due date; at month end you export all invoices as CSV and a PDF archive for your accountant, plus deposits from Stripe. Klendr prepares the documents — your accountant still keeps the books. About deposits and invoices
  • Inventory management — set what one service uses (foundation, setting spray, a pair of strip lashes, two sponges), and every booked look writes it off; retail items like lip oils go on the invoice, and an email warns you when lashes or glue run low before a busy Saturday
  • Client records — skin type, foundation shades, allergies, the wedding date and every past visit with amounts and no-shows in one card; the whole client base can be exported
  • Analytics — revenue by month, money spent on products, profit and hours worked, so you see which months, services and clients really pay; see the reports
  • Booking and reminders — the online booking page, SMS reminders and the date-holding deposit are part of the same system, not a separate tool

Why makeup artists move to a booking page

Most enquiries arrive as the same message at eleven at night: "Are you free on 14 June?" You check the calendar, answer, wait, answer the price question, wait again — and by the time the bride replies, another bride has asked for the same Saturday. Every evening goes into the same back-and-forth, and double-booking a wedding date is a mistake you only make once.

With Klendr the client opens your link — klendr.me/yourname — sees which dates and times are still free, picks bridal, evening or photo-shoot makeup and books in four steps without an app or an account. The link sits in your Instagram bio under your portfolio, in WhatsApp and on your Google profile. If you have a portfolio website, embed the same form with the WordPress plugin or code for Wix, Shopify and Tilda.

Wedding season: early mornings and dates set one by one

From May to September a makeup artist works to the wedding timetable, not the other way round. A ceremony at 13:00 means the bride sits down at 7:00, and the bridesmaids even earlier. In Klendr you keep normal working hours for the week and set special hours on single dates: open from 5:30 on wedding Saturdays, closed on the Sunday after. If you take work only by appointment, the schedule can run purely by dates, with no fixed weekdays at all.

When someone asks in a DM which Saturdays are still open, use copy free time: Klendr turns your open slots into text you paste straight into the chat. Each service has its own duration, so a 30-minute evening look and a 4-hour bridal party never overlap, and double bookings are blocked. Everything is visible in day, week and month view in the makeup artist calendar, and it syncs with Google or Apple Calendar on your phone.

Trial makeup and the wedding day as two linked appointments

A trial four to eight weeks before the wedding is where you agree on the look. Make Bridal trial a service of its own and, at the end of the trial, book the wedding morning in the calendar while the bride is still in your chair — or let her book it later from your link. Write down what you used in the client card: foundation and its shade, concealer, lip colour, which lashes, skin type and anything she reacts to.

On the wedding morning you open the card and repeat the agreed look without guessing. For a bridal party, create a service such as "Bride + 2 guests" with the combined time, so one booking reserves the whole morning. The client card also keeps the venue address and the exact start time you agreed, since the booking form itself only asks for name and contacts.

On-location work and a deposit that holds the date

Klendr does not calculate travel for you, so build it into the service: "Bridal makeup on location, city" with 150 minutes instead of 90 already covers the drive both ways. Venues outside town get a separate service with a longer duration and a higher price. That way the calendar never puts a studio client at 10:00 when you are still in a manor house 60 km away.

A wedding date booked in March is a date you turn others away for. Klendr can take a deposit through Stripe at booking — a percentage of the appointment total, one setting for the whole account — so a €250 bridal party pays more upfront than a €40 day look. Set a long free-cancellation window that suits weddings; if the client cancels in time, the deposit is refunded. You can instead save the card and charge only on a no-show. Questions makeup artists ask

How do I stop double-booking wedding dates?

Let brides book through your Klendr link. Once a time is booked it disappears from the booking page, and the calendar blocks overlapping appointments automatically, including ones you add yourself.

Can I take a deposit to secure a wedding date?

Yes. Clients pay a deposit through Stripe when they book. It is a percentage of the appointment total, one setting for the account, so bigger bridal bookings bring a bigger deposit. If the client cancels within your free-cancellation window, the deposit is refunded.

How do I handle travel to the venue?

Include the travel time in the duration of on-location services and price them accordingly. Create a separate service for venues outside the city with a longer duration.

Can I open 5 a.m. slots only on wedding days?

Yes. Special hours on single dates override your normal week, so you can start at 5:30 on a Saturday in June and keep regular hours on all other days.

Where do I save the products from the trial?

In the client card. Note foundation shade, lip colour, lashes, skin type and allergies; clients do not see these notes, and they are there on the wedding morning.

How much does booking software for makeup artists cost?

You can test Klendr through a whole 14-day stretch of bookings without entering a card. After that Individual costs €10 a month or €96 a year, and Individual Plus with 50 SMS is €15 a month. A team of artists can use the Team plan.
